As CEO, Lesley leads the organisation with a deep-seated belief in people’s capacity for change. She works with the Senior Management Team to develop strategy and ensure long-term sustainability, while staying true to the charity’s founding principles.

Lesley first joined Murray’s Initiative to run our Elevate Employability Programme – developing this into the largest service of its kind in Scotland. Her career spans retail, hospitality, HR and career guidance across private and third sectors, giving her a broad understanding of systems, partnerships and the importance of inclusive leadership. Volunteering has also shaped her approach, instilling the values of empathy, listening and empowering people to create change in their own lives.

For Lesley, some of the most rewarding moments come when former clients return as volunteers, colleagues and partners – proof of the lasting impact of Murray’s Initiative. She is proud to lead a team that continuously adapts to meet the needs of communities, builds resilience and delivers support with compassion and integrity.
