  • Changes in behaviour or drinking patterns can be important indicators that someone you care about may be struggling with alcohol or drug use.

    Some common signs include:

    • Drinking or using drugs alone, in secret or in excessive amounts

    • Relying on alcohol or drugs to manage stress, sadness, anger or other difficult emotions

    • Experiencing problems with money, work or legal issues connected to their alcohol or drug use

    • Becoming defensive, evasive or angry when asked about their drinking or drug use

    • Exhibiting sudden or extreme mood swings, irritability or withdrawal from family and friends

If you notice any of these signs, it is important to approach the situation with care and seek support—for both your loved one and yourself.

  • Supporting a loved one struggling with alcohol or drug can be overwhelming and isolating. We are here to empower you with the tools, knowledge and emotional support you need to make a positive difference.

    We offer:

    • Practical Guidance: Learn effective, compassionate ways to start conversations and encourage your loved one to seek help without causing conflict or distress.

    • Emotional Support for You: Caring for someone struggling with substance use takes a toll. We provide a safe space to express your feelings, reduce stress, and build resilience.

    • Comprehensive Resources: Access tailored information about local support services, community programmes, and clear, actionable next steps to help your loved one on their path to recovery.

All our services are completely free and confidential—except for our Drugs Counselling service.
